How it works

We lowercase the text with the right rules for its language, so in Turkish "IŞIK" and "ışık" count as the same word. Then we split it at sentence and punctuation boundaries and drop stopwords such as "the", "and" or "ve" from the one-word list. Phrases cannot start or end with a stopword.

Density is the number of times a phrase appears, multiplied by the number of words in it, divided by the total word count. For a URL we use the main text of the page and also show whether each phrase appears in the title, meta description and H1.

Why it matters

The words a page repeats most tell search engines and readers what it is about. If the phrase you are targeting is not near the top of the list, the page may be talking about something else.

The opposite is a problem too: repeating a phrase unnaturally makes text hard to read and can look like keyword stuffing. There is no ideal percentage; aim to cover the topic naturally, with synonyms and related terms.
