How it works
We open your homepage to read its title and meta description, then look for your sitemap in robots.txt, /sitemap.xml and /sitemap_index.xml. We take up to 50 URLs and read the title and description of the first 20.
The file follows the llmstxt.org proposal: a heading with your site name, a one-line summary in a quote block, and a "Pages" section with one Markdown link per page. Pages beyond the first 20 go under "Optional", which tells AI tools they can skip them when space is short.
Why it matters
AI assistants and answer engines read your pages through a limited context window. An llms.txt file at your site root gives them a short, clean map of what matters, without menus, scripts or cookie banners.
It does not replace robots.txt or your sitemap, and no search engine requires it yet. It takes five minutes to publish, and it helps make sure your best pages are the ones an assistant reads first.
